Hi, we have a number of existing Dataminer user Groups that we are looking to rationalise / combine so as to have a smaller number of new Group names (at the moment we are running Dataminer V9.6CU13). Dataminer's User Permissions tree is quite complex and once modified would be time consuming to accurately recreate. At the moment Dataminer's User Permission 'RIGHTS' settings appears to offer 4 presets (Operators / Power Users / Administrators (security read-only)/Administrators). We would like to understand how to save/export modified user 'RIGHTS' permissions, perhaps by creating new Presets. Are there options available to achieve this please?
This is not directly related to this topic, but would be interesting for this use case as well: Is it possible to export (and import) the user permission to a file?
Hi, a user doesn’t really have permissions, it only member of one or more groups. So, if you want to export those permissions, you basically need to export the permissions of a group, and then your question comes down to the question above… So, I’m afraid this is currently also not possible.
Many thanks for the prompt reply!
Hi Bert, is the facility for saving / exporting / importing Dataminer permissions on Skyline’s development timeline?
Here at DAZN we have been working through to document and then rationalise all of the existing user groups / permissions. Generally permissions have been modified over time from the available system defaults, particularly in relation which Views are accessible to each user Group. The task is a little awkward to ‘manage’ manually and is proving to take a great deal of time.
Let me check internally and I (or Pieter) will get back to you on this…
Hello, I do not believe there any options to export / save / import permissions however it would certainly be a useful feature. As far as I am aware, the only options currently available are to select one of the 5 ‘preset’ options within the Dataminer GUI.
