Does DOES Data miner have AI capabilities?

Like it can predict if the server CPU is going to be High? Memory is going to be full?

Hi Ahmed,

Most definitely.  This is one of the focal points of our R&D efforts in the recent years, as this type of technology becomes increasingly more vital to being able to efficiently monitor and manage complex operational systems.

We refer to this as DataMiner Augmented Operation, and this consists of an entire suite of features and capabilities that are built into DataMiner, to make it more intelligent with every new release.  This includes automatic forecasting on time series (i.e. the performance trend data for metrics such as the CPU load), automatic detection of changes in behavior and anomalies on time series, proactive cap detection (i.e. automatic risk assessment on metrics breaching thresholds), automated incident detection (i.e. automatic grouping of alarms based on knowledge collected in the past), etc.

If you go to the Dojo Video Library you can find quite a few webinars on the topic of Augmented Operation if you want more details, or you can search for Augmented Operation in the community to find a wealth of other related resources and information.

Regards

Ben

That's correct!  DataMiner Augmented Operations is a real-time artificial intelligence module by default included in any modern DataMiner platform.  It's designed to learn behaviors and recognize patterns of any metric/parameter that is integrated (ie. such as CPU, Memory, HDD, processes, temperatures, etc.) through a DataMiner connector (ie. our DataMiner Windows platform driver, monitoring KPIs on windows servers).  Our Augmented operations is not only able to learn the pattern and predict the behavior but also features pro-active cap detection alarming, meaning it's able to send a predicted alarm to the operator to give him/her an early warning that a problem is upcoming soon, including an indication of the time when the problem is forecasted. In addition more features are available and can be consulted here on this community platform.  The beauty of everything is that DataMiner AI requires zero-touch configuration, meaning the system does it all for you - you don't need to configure anything... and as mentioned earlier, it's included as part of any DataMiner platform you install without any extra investment required.  Hope this addresses your request, for more info don't hesitate to reach out to us.

hi Glenn,
Thanks first of all for your comment, as you said we can achieve this feature on existing DMA 9.5 or 9,6? if yes how can we achieve this feature does it require any extra license ? can you please share a document with or guide us on HOW TO?
Thanks

Glenn D'Haene [SLC] [DevOps Advocate] commented 30th November 2020

Correct, the first AI functionalities have started to onboard from version 9.5 onwards where they continue to extend in DataMiner X (10) and beyond. There is no commercial license to be purchased and the AI functionality is automatically enabled when the environment is ready (e.g. usage of Cassandra as storage, etc.). More details you can find here: https://community.dataminer.services/dataminer-advanced-analytics/ Don’t hesitate to get in touch with your Technical Account Manager in case you’ve further questions about the practical setup.
