DataMiner agent: Logging directory consumed more memory

We noticed in all DataMiner agents "C:\Skyline DataMiner\Logging' directory consumed high space and keep growing. I don't to find any mechanism to purge to set the retention period.

Due to this we had server performance issue and offloading the data to the filesystem.

How do we solve the issue?

Hi Jeyaram,

The majority of data in your logging folder seems to be from the MiniDump folder. These minidumps get created when DataMiner has a Run Time Error, they containing a zip of the log files at the time the RTE happened.

My recommendation would be to clear a lot of the oldest Minidump files. And only keep the once from last month. This would then already clear up some space on your harddrive. If the minidump files are all recent files, this could mean there is a problem in your system which needs to be investigated. Please contact techsupport if this would be the case.

We would also recommend to have the disk on your server monitored by DataMiner with the Microsoft Platform driver. And create alarms when your disk usage goes above 80%.

As a side note, we would like to indicate that the disk size for the OS and DataMiner should be at minimum 300GB. and the disk size for your cassandra DB should be 600Gb.
