Hello,
my question relates to Cube updates.
In my company, we plan to install Cube on company laptops - in such case the Cube would only have access to Dataminer Agent IP (no internet or cloud directly from laptops). But the Cube installation on Dataminer Agent itself would have access to cloud. When it comes to updates, would Cube on laptops update automatically or would we need to eventually reinstall Cube manually if new version was released? Also how often are new versions of DMA/Cube released in general?
Thank you,
Martin
Hi Martin,
New version of DataMiner and Cube are typically released every month.
You can find the exact update schedule here: https://community.dataminer.services/dataminer-release-overview-23-24/
If the laptops have no direct internet access they will not be able to independently update to the latest Cube version every month. However, they will still update to the Cube version that is available on the DMA they are connecting to. For example, if you would upgrade your DMS from 10.3.5 to 10.3.10, all clients will automatically download the new 10.3.10 Cube client from the DMA the next time they connect to it.
You could also manually deploy a newer Cube version to all agents in the cluster by obtaining the Cube.zip/versions.txt files from a more recent version and uploading it through System Center > System settings > Manage client versions.
See "Force a specific version" in https://docs.dataminer.services/user-guide/Advanced_Functionality/DataMiner_Agents/Configuring_a_DMA/DMA_configuration_related_to_client_applications.html#managing-client-versions
Perfect answer, thank you!
