CPU needed for version 10.x

Solved623 views17th July 2023CPU for version 10.x

Good morning,

on top of the requirement published on web page https://community.dataminer.services/dataminer-compute-requirements/ for the upgrade to version 10.x I would to know if there is a specific requiremet/suggenstion about the CPU.

Passmark score may be true either with a  “Xeon Gold” and with a “Xeon Silver”,  for instance.

Has Dataminer any preference/recommendation for the type of CPU ?

Thanks a lot

Hi Fabrizio,

The type of CPU doesn’t really matter for DataMiner. Most important is how much CPU power we have available, e.g. by looking at the PassMark benchmark. A Xeon Silver can do the job if you run DataMiner bare metal. If you want to run several VMs on one piece of hardware, you might need to go to the Gold series to get enough CPU power for all the VMs. But for the DataMiner software itself, gold or silver doesn’t really matter.

Bert
