Where can I find an overview how DataMiner agents (or a DMA and DataMiner client) communicate between each other. Interested in:

  • ports
  • encryption
  • protocols used
  • restrictions

Hi Thomas, for this I want to refer to the DataMiner Help > Configuring the IP network ports.

It's explaining:

  • Overview of IP ports used in a DMS
  • Graphical representation of IP communication within a DMS

To configure HTTPS to access your DMA, I want to refer to the DataMiner Help > Setting up HTTPS on a DMA

To encrypt all your incoming connections, you can enable this in the MaintenanceSettings, refer DataMiner Help > Encrypted connections

Additionally, from DataMiner 10.0.2 onwards, it is possible to enable TLS encryption on a DMA. When this is done, SSL/TLS encryption can be enabled when a TCP/IP element is created or edited. Refer DataMiner Help > Enabling TLS encryption.
