Clearing alarms – Maintenance.xml

Solved506 views28th August 2024clearing alarms maintenance.xml

During a recent upgrade from 9.6 the Maintenance.xml has lost the <AutoClear>false</AutoClear> flag on all the servers in the cluster.  What is the best way of restoring this?  Do I need to manually go into each Maintenance.xml, enter <AutoClear>false</AutoClear> and then restart each of the 20 servers that form the cluster?

Hi Paul,

I'm sorry to hear you experienced this unexpected behaviour.

There's no advisable way as far as I know to re-sync this, because the maintenance.xml also contains backup settings per dma for example, so we would advise doing it manually.

Can you please additionally be so kind as tell me to which precise version you upgraded so we can investigate the issue that cause this to reset?

It was a dual upgrade from 9.6CU13>10.1CU19>10.2CU21.

Rather than just applying the “Clear alarms” flag and restarting each DMA we are going to edit the file and then perform an upgrade to 10.3CU16 (this is schedule for 16th July). If the flag is still missing after the upgrade we will add it manually and restart under the same change window.

Ok thanks Paul. We’ll let you know if anything comes up on this.
