Hi,
Does anybody know if we can use the Cisco 9036 encoding platform driver for the Cisco D9032 encoder?
Also, can the Cisco D9800 transport receiver, D9859 receiver transcoder, and D9854 program receiver use the same driver?
Thank you,
Hi Marina,
The Cisco D9036 (Modular Encoding Platform) supports modules (cards). Checking the Cisco D9036 driver, it has been implemented to support the creation of DVEs per module. The Cisco D9032 encoder is single unit (not modular). Using the Cisco D9036 driver may cover similar OIDs, but I would suggest to use another driver to monitor the D9032 encoder.
Regarding the Cisco D9800, Cisco D9854 and Cisco D9859:
- The Cisco D9800 and Cisco D9854 are receivers and you could think initially that can be monitored with the same driver. However (from driver point of view), the Cisco D9800 driver supports HTML and SNMP, where as Cisco D9854 only supports SNMP (and FTP for presets). In this case I believe it is better to use a separate driver depending of the receiver that you are monitoring. The Cisco D9859 is a transcoder, so definitely a specific driver is required.
