Is it recommended to restore a backup to a DMA where the database is running on a disk which is different from the source DMA? In other words, may I restore a backup taken from an agent where the database is saved on C: to a DMA where the database is saved on D:? I would say first move the database from D: to C:, perform backup restore then move the database back to D: but perhaps that is not necessary.
Reposting from the old Q&A site, answered by Ive Herreman:
The Cassandra backup tool will read out the data directory location from the cassandra.yaml config file on the Agent where the backup is restored.
If you install your new DataMiner Agent with Cassandra on your data drive, the backup will be restored on that data drive.
So no, moving Cassandra to C: before restoring the backup is not necessary.
