Hi all,
In order to remote debug on a DMA, I needed to enable sharing on the "Skyline DataMiner" folder.
Later on, I needed to restart DataMiner but that didn't succeed.
After trying a few options such as unregistering and registering services and DLLs without success, I ended up rebooting the server.
After that, I could see that server side, DataMiner seems to be starting up successfully (all services correctly started, all logging files seem fine,...)
However, I still can't access it from any client.
From Internet Explorer, I get a 404 back (ip correctly added to the trusted sites)
From Cube, I get a "Error communicating with the server - Exception: Could not retrieve versions from server ..."
Any idea on how to solve this?
We suspect that sharing the "Skyline DataMiner" folder caused some changes to some user rights or so.
Unsharing the folder again had no effect.
This was solved by re-adding '<computername>\Users' with the correct permissions to the list of Security groups for C:\Skyline DataMiner.
Most likely sharing that folder messed with the settings.
The suggestion from Lander - execute SetNtfsPermissions.js - was not tried, but might work as well (not confirmed).
It sounds indeed like the permissions are incorrect. Can you try running SetNtfsPermissions.js in the Tools folder?
If that doesn’t help, check the permissions of the Webpages folder and compare with another DMA.
