Hi,
Today I was creating DataMiner configs on a staging DMA. after I created the config, I wanted to restore a backup file which was previously taken, but I am now unable to restore. I get this error :
I checked the DataMiner versions, on the backup package and on the new config where I am trying to restore, and they are the same :
The new config(current) where I am trying to restore is a blank DMA, running FR 10.1.4.
However, the DMA ID right now is 404 and the DMA ID of the backup package is 403.
The Taskbar Utility tool is also of a recent version (10.1.X).
Can you tell me how can I overcome this ? (A DMA restart does not work)
TIA 🙂
Hi Arunkrishna,
It's odd that you're seeing this on 10.1.4. The version blocking for backup restores was added only in 10.1.12 / 10.0 CU20 / 10.1 CU9 (RN30921).
Basically, on newer versions a MetaData.xml file gets added into the backup files, containing information like the DataMiner Version. When restoring, SLTaskBarUtility checks this data against the currently running DataMiner version.
I suspect that the backup was taken using an older version of SLTaskBarUtility, which would cause the backup package to be missing a MetaData.xml file inside.
My best guess for seeing this error on 10.1.4 would be a previous upgrade to a later version and a downgrade later on, leaving a newer SLTaskBarUtility version on the system.
