Hi All.
Can DataMiner work with Windows Defender Exploit Guard on the Windows server?
Do you have any experience implementing such an application?
From what I understand, we need to be very careful here and have information about exclusions for DataMiner.
File and process exceptions need to be added for the main DataMiner/Skyline binaries, installation directories, and database/log paths to prevent accidental I/O blocking/hijacking.
Typical exceptions: service executables, installation directory, working directories, temporary files, and backup files. This is required for the use of this application to prevent DataMiner processes from being blocked.
Big thanks for every answer

Hi Jaroslaw,
As far as I know, this hasn’t been tested before by Skyline.
It’s hard to predict the impact on DataMiner, so I suggest enabling it in audit mode first. Microsoft also recommends this approach. In audit mode, any potential violations are logged but not blocked, which allows you to see the impact before moving to full enforcement.
Kind regards,
