Backup failing – one of pair

Solved617 views28th May 2024

Created a new pair of DMA's and added to a cluster.

Using Cube directly connected to online node of the pair

Set backup location to be a network drive and provided credentials

Results in the online node fails for incorrect credentials but the offline node backs up without and issue.

Confused to how one can backup but not the other as the details are set in cube against the agent.

Just as a test: have you tried to open (or reach) the destination of the back up from both agents?

Richard Henderson commented 10th November 2023

The file location for backup and the credentials for the location are the same for both agents. The folder location can be accessed by both agents.

I see that this question has been inactive for some time. Have you found a solution for this yet? If yes, could you let us know how this was resolved, for reference for other users? If no, could you provide some information, as requested by Alberto?

Richard, I'm assuming that by "pair" you're referring to a DMA in 1+1 failover config (1 VIP shared between main & stby agent).

If so, the host name of the machines will be different - could this come into play for the credentials that are set?

I'd try what happens when the online agent is set in stand-by - if the situation of the back-up is unchanged, perhaps trying to access the network path from the related agent can give some more info.

HTH
