Hi All,
We have been testing out the Audible alerts in DataMiner and it is functioning however for some odd reason one of our NOC operator laptop cant hear the audio alert and this pops up but Windows Media Player is already installed. Is there away to fix this so that we can enable the Audible Alert in her system?
Could the NOC Operator check if the Windows Media Player function is enabled?
You can find this by going to "Programs and Features" > "Turn Windows features on or off". Then you should get to a popup for the "Windows Features". And there you can then go to "Media Features", expand that section. And you should there make sure the "Windows Media Player" is checked.
If you are using a N or KN version of Windows 10 , then the media player feature is not included by default. You can download it then via this link:

Could the NOC Operator try the following:
1) Uncheck the windows Media Player
2) Reboot his Computer
3) Check the Windows Media Player
4) Reboot his Computer
Hopefully this resolves the issue. Otherwise a reinstall of the Windows Media Player can be tried.
Unfortunately The issue hasn’t been resolve yet even with the instruction.
So yes we did confirm that they have the Media Features Enabled and checked. They were still unable to hear the sound and the popup for the audible alert is still occuring.
