Hi,
When verifying the security options, I see for an alarm template (see info here ) there are permissions to "Add", "Edit", or "Delete" an alarm template. For a trend template (see info here ) there is only the permission to "Configure" a trend template, as the help describes as the permission to "edit" trend templates. I guess the "edit" described in the help also means to be able to add and delete a trend template, unless those options would be located somewhere else?
Is my assumption correct for trend templates it means that "Configure" is equal to be able to add, edit, and delete a trend template and it is not possible to e.g. only grant a user with the permissions to add a trend template (no editing), while with alarm templates it is possible to distinguish between those permissions?
Regards,
Hi Laurens,
Your findings are correct.
Currently, there is not as much granularity in the configuration permissions of trend templates as there is for alarm templates.
Thank you for confirming. It feels a bit odd that there is this granularity for alarm templates at first sight. Perhaps there are some cases that I'm not thinking of at this moment, but I can imagine if someone would have rights to add an alarm template, but not to edit, that a user might get into the situation where they just uploaded an alarm template and want to change it that they are not able to modify the template that they have just created themselves a few minutes before.
