What is "Alarm Focus", is it already available and how should it be used?
A good way of looking at this feature Enrique is to compare it with a spam filter on your e-mail box. If you have for example alarms that are constantly toggling on and off (e.g. due to a poor alarm threshold definition), or an alarm that re-occurs every day at around the same time, then those will be considered to be non-focus alarms after some time (i.e. you could have put your money down on the fact that they would occur). By using this feature, operators can really filter out any clutter and focus on alarms that truly indicate an important operational issue. Again, think of it as a spam filter.
Hi Enrique,
Alarm focus is available since DataMiner 10.0.0/10.0.2. This feature assigns an estimated likelihood or “alarm focus score” to each alarm, after analyzing the short-term history and current behavior of incoming alarms in real time. Depending on the focus score, an alarm can be considered unexpected. If it is considered unexpected, this is indicated with a special icon in the Focus column of the Alarm Console. You can find more information about this here: https://help.dataminer.services/dataminer/#t=DataMinerUserGuide%2Fpart_2%2Falarms%2FWorking_with_the_Alarm_Console.htm%23XREF_65078_Filtering_alarms.
