Adding a folder to the Documents section of an element

Hello All,

We would like to be able to add subfolders to the Documents section of an element. ( We don’t want our files to be global but local to one machine.)

We have ~10k files which are used by one element so organising these via subfolders is needed.

We do not have the option to do this, is there a reason for this/would it be a permissions issue?

Hi Ryan,

This is currently a limitation of the software.
A change request is on the backlog, but no estimated delivery date is available yet.

Thank you for clarifying Ive,

Is there a recommended way to set this up, where files will not transfer across a cluster if they are only needed on one machine, whilst still being able to have sub folders?

Many thanks,
Ryan

Hi Ryan,

What would you like to do with the files?

If you store the files on the server outside of the c:skyline dataminer folder, you don’t have any restrictions to how the subfolders are built and these files will not be synced. However they will also not appear in any UI, so the only way to visualize them would be to use some custom code (driver, automation script, or ad-hoc data source).
