If you've been following our Dojo Blog recently, you may have noticed the enormous number of additions and enhancements to the DataMiner Dashboards and Low-Code Apps modules. But did you know there are multiple ways to access these new features—whether you're on the Feature Release track or the Main Release track?
In this post, we'll guide you through the different options for keeping your DataMiner web apps up to date. From Feature Releases and cumulative updates to zero-downtime web upgrades, you'll learn how to unlock the latest innovations in a way that fits your system's needs.
Staying up to date: Feature Releases and cumulative updates
If you're on the DataMiner Feature Release track, keeping up with the latest web app features is easy. We strongly recommend always having the latest Feature Release installed to benefit from all the newest fixes and features. Each new Feature Release version automatically unlocks all the latest capabilities in the DataMiner web apps.
But what if you're on the DataMiner Main Release track? Main Release versions receive one major update per year. However, you don't need to wait a full year to access new web app features—thanks to cumulative updates (CUs). Each time a new Feature Release becomes available, a corresponding cumulative update is also released, containing all the same web app enhancements.
For example, DataMiner 10.4.0 [CU13] includes all the web app features introduced in Feature Release version 10.5.4. This means you can access the latest innovations without waiting for the next major Main Release.
Feature Release version | Main Release version |
10.5.4 | 10.4.0 [CU13]; 10.5.0 [CU1] |
10.5.3 | 10.4.0 [CU12]; 10.5.0 |
10.5.2 | 10.4.0 [CU11] |
... | ... |
10.4.4 | 10.4.0 [CU1]; 10.3.0 [CU13] |
10.4.3 | 10.4.0; 10.3.0 [CU12] |
If you're running DataMiner 10.4.0 without any cumulative updates, you're limited to the web app features from Feature Release 10.4.3. That's a lot of innovations you're missing out on—definitely consider installing the latest cumulative update!

Unlocking features with zero downtime: web upgrades
What if you want to access the latest web app features but aren't ready to install a full upgrade because of system downtime? That's where DataMiner web upgrades come in!
Before web upgrades were introduced, accessing new web app capabilities required a full system upgrade. This process takes time and involves a longer validation phase afterward. But with web upgrade packages, things are much easier.
A web upgrade package only contains the web API and the web apps—leaving core processes untouched. The best part? You can install a web upgrade with zero downtime! While the DataMiner web server restarts during the process (temporarily making the web apps unavailable), the rest of your system remains fully operational.
If you're running DataMiner 10.4.0 or higher, the quickest and easiest way to start enjoying the latest web app features is to install a web upgrade package. No major system upgrade required; just a hassle-free way to stay current.
Keep your web apps up to date
Whether you follow the Feature Release track, stay on the Main Release with cumulative updates, or opt for web upgrades, there's always a way to keep your DataMiner web apps up to date. Don't miss out on the latest innovations—choose the path that best fits your needs and keep exploring everything DataMiner has to offer.
