Hi Dojo,

Is there a way to move Cassandra DB from one HD to another?

We are copying manually the files and editing the config yaml but is not working.

Hi Manuel,

I haven’t done this in a while but the procedure I would use in such case would be:

  1. Nodetool drain on the node on which you want to apply the change.
  2. Stop the Cassandra service.
  3. Copy the dataset from the old location to the new location in the filesystem.
  4. Adjust the yaml settings file to point to the new location in the filesystem.
  5. Start the Cassandra service.

That should in my mind get it done.
