In this scenario, DataMiner is used to configure presets and monitor a set of devices, based on schedules it receives from reservation tools like spreadsheets, scheduall, mediapulse, etc.
The resources are already selected in the planning tool, there's no resource management - i.e. no checks are done for conflicts on resource availability/status, utilization, or capacity and DataMiner is not responsible to do those either.
Based on the information on the SRM section, would this be a case of Resource automation, where instead of a button triggering the automations it uses a scheduled trigger (start/stop times)?
Hi Bruno,
If you use resource automation, an operator will have to open the booking at booking start time and manually load the presets (profiles) to the resources one by one. This functionality is available free of charge. If you use resource orchestration, operators can select a profile for each resource at booking creation time. This profile will then automatically be applied to the resource at booking start time (start state profile) and at booking stop time (stop state profile). Such a resource orchestration booking does count towards the SRM license count (number of concurrent active bookings).
