Question related to Harmonic's acquisition of Thomson Video Networks back in 2016:
Is the Harmonic RD9000 decoder driver compatible with the Thomson RD4000 decoder? In other words: Can the RD9000 driver be used to integrate the RD4000?
Hi Bart
From a first glance, I would say not yet...
I'm running a simulation from Thomson Video Networks RD4000 against both RD4000 and RD9000 and, I cannot see the same data being displayed.
For your information, I'm considering these versions:
- Thomson Video Networks RD4000 version 1.0.1.2
- Harmonic RD9000 Decoder version 1.0.0.3
Thanks for your answer, André. I understood that the compatibility is depending on the 3rd party interface available on the RD9000, i.e. to what extent this interface is covering the structure and parameters of the RD4000 and to what extent Harmonic has plans in that direction. But for now, both RD-types need their own connector (aka driver).
