Is MySQL still supported as local storage in DM 10.6?

Hi Dojo,

I have doubts about end of support for MySQL as a local storage for DataMiner.

  • The page Legacy setup with MySQL or MSSQL database | DataMiner Docs states “…will continue to work with MySQL up to DataMiner 10.6.0”.
  • The page Software support lifecycles | DataMiner Docs states “End of Support as of DataMiner 10.6.x”.
  • I have also checked release notes for DataMiner 10.6 and prerequisite checks and haven’t found any mentions that the upgrade would be blocked if DataMiner uses the storage type “MySQL”.

Based on the above, it seems that although End of Support for MySQL is announced for DM 10.6, a DataMiner agent with a legacy MySQL database will continue to work in version 10.6.

Can somebody confirm that?

Hi Alexander,

We end support for MySQL as of 10.6, but it remains in the software (i.e. not end of life), so technically it can be used under the user’s own responsibility.

However we don’t recommend using any unsupported features as these could lead to unexpected problems.
