You have a few options.

Alerter | DataMiner Docs - Alerter has settings for audible notifications - the advantage of this tool is that it can run in the background in your system tray (i.e. you do not have to have a client open).  It supports filters to decide what you want to trigger on.

You can also use audible notifications in the Cube client.  You activate this on tab pages in your Alarm Console through the hamburger menu on the left top of the Alarm Console - and you would first create a tab page that filters out the alarms you want to trigger upon and then enable one of these options.

I believe we want to use a vlc client for the audible alerts and will need to configure a custom alert sound for that alarm. Ill do some research on how to achieve this from the documentation you provided.
