Table layout changing

Hello,

We have a table parameter whose columns keep reshuffling in cube. We want the default layout, which can be achieved by right clicking the column header & choosing Reset layout.

But the issue is that the columns keep reshuffling for all users when viewing the table from any DMA in our DMS (ver 10.3 CU21).

In Table parameters | DataMiner Docs, it is mentioned :

“From DataMiner 10.4.0 [CU11]/10.5.0/10.5.2 onwards, changes to the column layout are saved automatically. In earlier versions, you can manually save a custom column layout with the Save layout option in the right-click menu of a table header. This includes the width, position, and visibility of the columns. The layout will be saved in your personal settings and applied to all elements using this same protocol.”

However I don’t see the Save layout option. Is there a way where we can prevent these columns from shuffling ? Note that the connector in subject is a 3rd party connector.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Arunkrinshna,

The “Save layout” option was removed in later versions because column layout changes are now automatically saved. This means that when you reorder or resize columns in the table, the layout is saved to your personal settings without needing to use the menu option.

As for the issue you’re experiencing with columns reshuffling, it’s not entirely clear why that’s happening. However, one possible explanation is that when new columns are added to the table, the system may not be able to reliably maintain the previously saved positions. In such cases, the layout could be reset or reorganized automatically.

This is just a hypothesis, but it might explain the behavior you’re seeing.

Kind regards,
