Hello,

I have some MIB files that need to be imported that have “.my” extension. DIS MIB Browser only recognizes “.mib”, “.msi” and “.txt” extensions.

Does someone know how can I convert this “.my” file to a file with “.mib” extension?

Thanks!

Hi Tarik,
As far as I remember, both files are text files. Updating the extension of the file from .my to .mib should make the trick
Could you give a try?

Tarik Mekic [SLC] [DevOps Advocate] commented 17th January 2024

I already tried that, and it didn’t work.
Any other ideas?
🙂

Hi Tarik, feel free to reach out to support.data-acquisition@skyline.be and techsupport@skyline.be and provide us the file so that we can further investigate.

As Miguel said, renaming the files with a .mib extension should work (are you sure the extensions are not hidden in File Explorer?)

As an alternative, if there are a lot of files for example to change, you can type *.* in the File name field and hit enter in the file selection window. This will make all files visible to select and .my files can be imported without issues.

Hi Matthijs,
Sorry for the late response.
Indeed, changing the extension does work.
In a MIB Browser the mib file had a dependency on another file, but in DIS MIB Browser, the same MIB file had dependencies on nine other files. So, that was confusing me also.
Anyway, thanks.
