How to fully secure the DMA to STaaS connection?

When I connect my on-prem DMA to STaaS, what type of security (authentication / encryption) is applied on this connection?

Can I force the DMA to STaaS connection to run over a VPN gateway connection? Or would this be completely redundant and not add any extra security?

Hi Jeroen

for the authentication we are using the identity of the DataMiner system on dataminer.services.

All communication between the DMA and the STaaS endpoints is already encrypted through SSL since we use HTTPS.

This also means that adding an extra VPN Gateway will not increase the security.
