Hi All,
I see in our documentation that OpenSearch is only supported on Linux.
However, OpenSearch official website states that there is compatibility with Windows 2019.
May I confirm if there are any known issues that prevent us setting up an environment with OpenSearch running on Windows?
Also, would anyone know or have experience on OpenSearch compatibility with Windows 2022?
Thank you very much!
Our recommendation is to run OpenSearch on a separate Linux based host. This is what is used for our testing & validation.
Whilst OpenSearch is compatible with Windows, it is not a setup which is covered in our testing.
In all scenarios, we recommend against running OpenSearch and DataMiner on the same machine to prevent either of the two from being starved for resources.
Another reason this isn't part of the docs is that Windows support for OpenSearch is a relatively new thing.
If you go to the download page for 2.3, it doesn't give you this option. It was introduced in 2.4.
It simply didn't exist yet when this was written, but it can be removed now.
I'll update our docs.
However our recommendation (see Kevin's answer) still holds.
Thank you for your feedback.
