Hey everyone,

I was able to access the Dataminer Agent using Cube.
I would like to connect to the device as soon as possible, but I don’t know where to start.

Please advise.

Hi Motoki

to get started be sure to take a quick look at the docs. We have a lot of documentation that will allow you to get started.

I see you are looking to create an element, you can find the steps for that on this page.

If you want to create some dashboards based on the data you collected from your devices you will find information about that on this page.

Do note that there are plenty of courses available on the community website to get you started with DataMiner. I would advice you to take a look at the DataMiner Foundational training and the Visualization training for Dashboards.

Let me know if I can be of assistance to get you on your way.

Hi Motoki,

Further to the comment of Baptiste, I have now made the Lawo V_matrix connector available for you as trial. you should now be able to download it via catalog. If you have any other connectors you like to test, you can request this via an email to the DataMiner Licensing Group <dataminer.licensing@skyline.be>

thanks Johan!

I can’t find the V-matrix Protocol in Protocols & templates,,

Perhaps I need to download the V-matrix ProtocolFile from the Dataminer website and then upload it to DMA….. is this correct?

Johan Hallez [SLC] [DevOps Member] commented 30th June 2023

Hi Motoki,

that is correct. you can browse to https://catalog.dataminer.services/ and if you search for Lawo V_matrix, you will see that you can deploy. if you hit the button, it will be installed on your system and then you will be able to use it

Motoki Orikasa commented 30th June 2023

Hi Johan,

I just accessed the catalog site, but it is marked No License there….hmmmm

Johan Hallez [SLC] [DevOps Member] commented 30th June 2023

Hi Motoki,
before you will be able to benefit from the cloud functionalities (catalog is one of them), you will need to connect to dataminer. services first. you can find the instructions on how to connect here: https://docs.dataminer.services/user-guide/Cloud_Platform/Connecting_to_cloud/Connect_to_dataminer_services.html

Hi Amer,

Do I set it up in this window?
I’m planning to connect V_matrix this time, do I have to Upload the Protocol file?

Also, can you tell me the web app for Dashboard?

Motoki Orikasa Posted new comment 30th June 2023
Amer Hodzic [DevOps Member] commented 30th June 2023

If you do not have the protocol file you have to upload it but you can check the protocols in Apps->Protocolos & Templates.

and for the Dashboards App If you go on the left side Apps-> Dashboards(Under Web Apps) it will open it in your default browser and you must login again.

Motoki Orikasa commented 30th June 2023

I checked the Protocols & templates and it empty.
In this case, where can I get the Protocols for V-matrix? and how can i upload the protocol file?

Baptiste Pattyn [SLC] [DevOps Advocate] commented 30th June 2023

Hi Motoki, you can find all of the protocols we have available over on catalog.dataminer.services. Note that you will need a license before you are able to get the protocol on your DataMiner agent. For that you will need to contact our sales team (sales@skyline.be). More information on getting protocols uploaded to DataMiner can be found here: https://docs.dataminer.services/user-guide/Basic_Functionality/Protocols_and_templates/Protocols/Adding_a_protocol_or_protocol_version_to_your_DataMiner_System.html.

Motoki Orikasa commented 30th June 2023

Thanks Baptiste,

I am a Trial licensee, so I know there is a limit to the number of devices I can connect.
But I didn’t know that I have to tell the licensing team for each Driver….

To connect devices you must create a new element with a protocol of the device you want to connnect and give it the ip address making sure the dma is able to reach the device.

Dashboards must be done through the web app.
