DataMiner.lic checksum and datetime stamp

Will the active Dataminer.lic file’s MD5 checksum and datetime stamp always match the original file provided from the licensing group or will a DM process write to it and therefor cause changes in checksum and timestamp resulting the active/running license not matching the original one. I ask because in the case where numerous licenses have been provided for a system and we lose track on which on we are currently running we want to know if we can simply compare the CRC and/or DataTime stamp of the running license to the ones provided to find a match. Or to compare the running license to the latests one provided to make sure the system in running the correct license.

Thanks

Hi Jeff,

DataMiner will never write to the license file dataminer.lic. The software will only read out the file. This means that the MD5 checksum and last modified timestamp will remain the same.

So, if you just take the latest dataminer.lic file, it will include the latest license information and you should be good.

Bert
