The new year will bring some very nice features for configuration management and connectivity in DataMiner Infrastructure Discovery Provisioning (IDP).
Allow me to give you a brief overview:
- It will be possible to launch a configuration backup, configuration restore, or software update operation for multiple data sources at once. This will make it easier to launch actions in bulk.
- When taking a configuration backup, you will be able to select whether the running, startup or golden configuration should be backed up.
- Under the hood, we have been enhancing the provisioning of DCF connections, so that we can give you precise control over the provisioning of specific discovered connections and interface properties in future IDP releases.
- We are preparing to make it possible to pick any configuration backup from the DataMiner Configuration Archive and send this to one or more data sources. This will allow you to restore data sources to any previously taken backup or update them with a golden configuration stored in the archive.
The above features are still under development and we expect them to become available in the first quarter of 2021. In the meantime, we welcome your feedback below!
