Would SNMP polling clear a trap for an interface table?

Hi,

I’ve got a question related to traps and polling. If DataMiner receives a trap for an interface that is down and for whatever reason doesn’t receive the clear trap message ( or due to network issues receives the clear before the interface down trap), would the 5 minute polling of that interface table be able to change the status of that interface from “Down” to “Up”? Or does DataMiner need to receive the “Interface Up” trap?

Thanks in advance,

Carlos

Hi Carlos,

DataMiner will always display the latest available information.

If a trap is missed, the update from a poll action will update the information to reflect the actual situation.
