Hi All,

Consider the following situation:

  1. Element A is no longer able to reach the device.
  2. Element A goes to the timeout state.

Will it continue to incur STaaS costs after step 2 if it never recovers from the timeout state?

Thanks!

Hi Jason - technically the answer is yes, because STaaS is charged for each alarm update, trend data point, information events and element data writes. And some information messages could be generated for example for that element. But in practice this would be so small that it would be completely and utterly negligible, if it would even register.
