Hello! Every so often, we get a user who attempts to login to cube but gets the attached error message saying Start Dataminer software manually. This user has access and has been in the application before. We have randomly seen this issue and have been unable to pinpoint a common point of failure.
What log files can I look at to show attempted logins to cube and if it was denied? Thanks for your help!
Hi Joe,
On the DMA, you would normally find something in the log file of SLNet. But I'm afraid you won't see anything in there because Cube was not able to connect to the DMA. So, the connection attempt never made it to the DMA and therefore it won't be in the logging of the DMA, if the error message is accurate of course.
It more feels like a network or firewall issue... Is this happening from a particular network or location? Or does it suddenly connect again a few minutes later? You could also check the logging of Cube (System Center > Logging > Cube tab page). When selecting a log entry, you can also find more details in the details panel at bottom. If you see a timeout in there, then this would point to something on the network or the firewalls...
