The docs mention that it's best to not skip a major release.
To upgrade to a major DataMiner version that is several versions higher than the current version, we recommend that you upload and install a package for each major version change
So this means in order to go from 10.1 to 10.3, I also need to upgrade to 10.2?
Can I simply upgrade to 10.3 directly after the upgrade to 10.2 ? Or should I let the system run a couple of days on 10.2?
If you can upgrade directly after each other, in order to reduce downtime, is it an option to no let DataMiner complete the 10.2 startup and directly start the 10.3 upgrade?
Are their other ways to reduce downtime when having to do the 2 upgrades if you can upgrade directly after each other?
Hi Tim,
You indeed will first have to upgrade to 10.2 before going to 10.3.
There's no need to let the system run for a couple of days on 10.2.
As far as I'm aware, the most easy thing to do is to first let the DMAs start up with 10.2, as a DMA that is up and running is considered part of being a successful upgrade (before being able to click on the "Finished" button) and I'm also wondering how to remotely upgrade to 10.3 if the DMAs would still be stopped (not reachable)
