Temperature Sensor Driver

Hi Dojo,

I noticed that there are three generic temperature sensor drivers listed in the catalog. Could you kindly advise which protocol these drivers are based on, and which brand or type of temperature sensor they are compatible with?

Hi Ashwiny,

Thank your for your question.
I can't yet provide you a full blown answer but here is already a few pointers in the meantime.

I had a quick look at those connectors and I can say the following:

  • Those are all extremely old.
  • None of them are meant to retrieve info from any specific vendor with any specific api or protocol. Instead, they are to be seen as some kind of placeholder to receive values from other DataMiner elements using virtual attribute | DataMiner Docs. Wild guess: the idea was probably to be able to show Temperature sensors metrics in a generic/consistent way eventhough those would come from very different data-sources and very different connectors.

I'm now following up with users who are or have been using these to learn more about it but I kind of expect they are no longer used much and we may even consider making them deprecated. But yeah, disclaimer, this last part is just a guess for now.

regards,
