In an interactive automation script, how can I create a status message?

I would like to provide user feedback without displaying a message dialog. Ideally, it would be better to show the status message as a bar at the bottom of the window for a cleaner visual appearance.

Does this feature exist in the library, or would it need to be implemented manually?
