SRM – changing Profile Instance which is in use

Hi all,

I would like to modify a Profile Instance which is currently in use by multiple bookings. When doing this I get a message saying: "Modifying/deleting profile instance would cause some bookings to go into quarantine. "

Is there a way to modify the Profile Instance without it putting those services in quarantine?

Hi Stacey,

When applying a profile instance 'By Reference', any capacity/capability update you would apply on that instance can have an impact on the Bookings making use of it.

In case you don't want that behavior, you need to use the 'By Value' assignment.

Using the AssignResource method, you should be able to change the assignment mode.

Hi Emmanuel,

Thank you for the information. So this means that we currently are unable to modify these profile instances when a booking is still active which uses the profile instance with a ‘By Reference’? Or is there some other way we can work around this?

Hi Stacey,
You can still change it ; however in case you adjust capacity or capability parameters, it could be that bookings will go to Quarantine in case the resource can’t handle it.
