I'm experiencing a problem with the side panel (to the left of the Visio) in the Cube client when using a multi-page Visio with a background.
If a Visio has multiple (visible) pages with a background and you don't move the mouse for a few seconds, then the side panel disappears very slowly and smooth. The tabs above the Visio also disappear, leaving only the Visio and the Surveyor visible. When you move the mouse again, it all reappears. This doesn't happen with single-page Visios.
Why does this happen, and how can I disable it?
Hi Gerrit,
I suspect one of the shapes, probably a background image or similar in this Visio file has the "stretch|fill" shape data. In this case, that is the expected behaviour.
You can find more info on this in this help page: Stretching a shape across an entire card | DataMiner Docs

Hi Gerrit,
I had a quick try myself and there is indeed a difference in behavior between a Visio file with single page and one with multiple pages when using the stretch|fill option. Please create a ticket so we can look into this further.
In order to solve your situation, I would suggest to use the outerbackground page option. It will fill the area around the image with a background color of your choice, which you can match to the image. It's not the same as the stretched image, but a matching border color will be displayed instead of the default white borders.
You can find more info on this option here: https://docs.dataminer.services/dataminer/Operator_guide/Visio/miscellaneous/Specifying_the_background_of_Visual_Overview_pages.html
Hi Michiel,
Thanks for your quick answer.
I do have the Stretch:Fill option in the background shape to keep the visible area with background and prevent white bars from appearing around the Visio for users with different resolutions.
But why does the side panel remain when there's only one Visio page?
Can this behavior be disabled? I find it really annoying. The side panel with useful information is now replaced by nothing but the background, which adds no value.
