Hi Dojo,
I want to create a service template where I generate ONE service, which includes all services naming *ABR*.
Is this somehow possible?
Hi Stefan,
Yes that should be possible.
When creating the service template, add a 'child element' under the tab 'Child Elements' and click the 'Edit...' button.
Select the 'Templated Service' option and enter a name mask, E.g. *ABR*.
It's important to also select the option 'Include all matching services in generated service' to include all matches.
More information can be found here: Creating child elements in service templates | DataMiner Docs.
The result when applying the Service Template will be that all services matching this name mask will be included in the generated service.
Kind regards,
Hi Stefan,
I believe it’s not possible to individually update the alias names of the services afterwards as they were included dynamically and generated based on the Service Template.
The generated service however should already contain the child services with their original names.
If you would like to create a fully custom service, you could also manually create a service instead of through a template.
To achieve this result, right-click in the Surveyor and choose New > Service.
Under the tab ‘parameters’, you can include all the services you wish by clicking the ‘Add Elements’ button at the bottom.
For each included service or element, you are now able to enter a different name by updating the ‘Alias’ setting.
A full description can be found on the following documentation page: https://docs.dataminer.services/user-guide/Basic_Functionality/Services/Adding_a_service.html?q=servicealias.
Kind regards,
Hi Robin,
this will be a list with several tv services. But when I generate it with the trend template you can’t identify the tv services. I wanted to use the trend template because it’s updating when a service is removed or added.
When I do it manually I have to adapt it for every change.
Hi Robin,
is it also possible to adjust the child element name?
I have now a lot of services included, so my idea would be to have the title = service name for each service.
Kind regards,
Stefan
