Removing ‘read only’ trend groups as admin

We have some trend groups that have been created as 'read only' but have become obsolete.

Unfortunately the user creating some of these trend groups has left the company.

How can I remove these obsolete read only groups as an admin ?

Hi,

This is a bit of a workaround that require some steps, but this can be done with the help of the SLNetClientTestTool.

  1. Connect with this tool with your own credentials to a DMA in the cluster where this trend group is present.
  2. At the bottom of the tool, there is a tab page "Build Message", click on this tab page
  3. Select as Message Type "UpdateTrendFilterMessage"
  4. Next to the "FilterDefinition" field, click on the empty field (right column), after which a button with 3 dots appear. Click on the 3 dots, then you should be able to expand the FilterDefinition (down arrow on left side should appear, click on the down arrow).
  5. Fill in Name = lower case name of the trend group that needs to be removed
  6. Fill in UserContext = sharedusersettings
  7. Select as Type = Delete
  8. Click on the "Send Message" button

I have to also mention the disclaimer that the usage of the SLNetClientTestTool can completely mess up your system so please use this with caution, and if you would rather not execute these steps yourself then feel free to contact Techsupport who can execute these steps for you.

Regards,

This worked as expected Laurens.
Thanks for your very clear explanation of the procedure.
