Remove Outliers from Trends

Hello everyone,

a question that has come up with a customer:

Is there a way to remove outliers from Trends?

Outliers like this are sometimes reported by the equipment during maintenance, or if there are some short distruptions. The problem is, they interfere with the customers evaluation of the trends and they want them removed.

So, is there a way to do that?

Best Regards,

Robert

A feature suggestion exists to allow custom y axis scaling in the web app line charts. I suggest upvoting that one as it’s already under review.

Note that DataMiner Cube does support this if that is a valid alternative.

Hello Toon,
but that would only limit the y axis, correct? To my understanding the customer wants to have the line associated with the outlier completly removed from the trend.

Best Regards,
Robert

Ah, so if I understand correctly, they want to manipulate the data? I think in that case it's best to turn towards GQI, get the trend data in there and do some filtering?

Hello Toon,
I guess that will be our best option then.

Best Regards,
Robert
