Hello Dojo,
I have questions regarding Cube client version and launcher version.
(1) May I know if there is a difference between Cube client version and launcher version?
(2) What is the purpose of having Cube launcher version in the DataMiner Cube about page.
(3) May i know if the Cube launcher version can affect DMA server version and client version I am connected to?
(4) Does Cube launcher version automatically update when I upgrade the DMA?
Thank you for the help in advance.
Hello Min Than Aung
1.DataMiner Cube(client) that is installed and running on your system when you connect to a DataMiner Agent (DMA). It matches the version of the DMA server you are connected to.
2.Launcher Version: This refers to the DataMiner Cube Launcher, which is responsible for launching and managing different versions of DataMiner Cube. It ensures you always run a Cube version compatible with the DMA version you are connecting to,or u can do manually download the version and set with desktop dataminer cube
3.
- The Cube Launcher does not affect the DMA server version. The DMA runs independently on the server.
- However, the Cube Launcher can affect the Cube Client version you are using because it manages which version of Cube is launched.
4.
- No, the Cube Launcher does not automatically update when you upgrade the DMA.
- The launcher updates separately and may need to be manually updated if a new version is available. However, the Cube Launcher does automatically download the correct Cube Client version that matches the connected DMA version.
- (plus) if you want to see the versions details u can go on profile and about in general or versions (Cube Desktop)
- if you want to add version manually there is question(my own problem) for upgrade versions or features versions(cuz manually is kind eazier you can see the problem below)
