After upgrading DM to a new version, such as 9.6 CU10 -> CU20 or 9.5->9.6, what additional steps are required? for example:
- For IE Cube clients, clear the IE and XBAP cache on all client machines
- For Standalone Cube Client, download the latest client from the DMA after the upgrade
- Is it ever required to reboot the actual DMA server, say when upgrading major versions such as 9.6->9.6 or 9.6->10.0
Thanks
Hi Jeff, first of all my best wishes for 2021!
After a DMA upgrade it's indeed important to update the DataMiner client:
- For IE Cube clients: a refresh in IE should automatically trigger the download of the new Cube client version. If there would be a problem, then indeed clearing the XBAP cache can resolve this.
- For Standalone Cube client: correct, you'll need to download the new version linked to your installed/upgraded DataMiner version.
Related to the DataMiner server itself:
3. No server reboot is required after a DMA upgrade.
In general, I would recommend to move to our latest & greatest Cube launcher (compatible with all supported DataMiner versions). The Cube launcher is available on DataMiner Services (right top: Install DataMiner Cube). On this you can add any DataMiner agent (running same or different DataMiner versions). When upgrading a DMA, the launcher will automatically detect the new client version, so no manual action is required (anymore). More information is available on:
