What is the typical network bandwidth required for
- Northbound API (Cube connection to the DMS)?
- Intra communication between active and Failover Agent?
- Inter communication between active Agents in a cluster?
In some cases client and/or DMA are located on different sites and it would be useful to know which bandwidth should be allocated for the DMS in the network.
Hi Bernard,
Further to the response above, I have managed to find some data related to inter-node traffic in two real life DataMiner Systems.
DISLCAIMER: note again that these are just examples, and these rates can be different from one DataMiner System to another, depending on their architecture, their set-up, the ecosystem it monitors, the way it is used, etc.
Then again, I can also add that the reference systems used for this data are quite common systems, i.e. the numbers should not be atypical.
You can find the data for both systems below. But in a nutshell:
In general we see that the bandwidth usage stays below 33 Kbps most of the time (between two nodes of the system). Typically peaks will not exceed 100 Kbps. There are some peaks of more than 333 Kbps, but then again that's because this is available at that point in time (i.e. if the available bandwidth would be limited to 100 Kbps, the system would perform just fine).
SYSTEM 1 - consists of 6 DMA nodes
average traffic observed between the nodes over 24 hours
typical traffic profile between 2 nodes looks as follows
SYSTEM 2 - consists of 7 DMA nodes
average traffic observed between the nodes over 24 hours
typical traffic profile between 2 nodes looks as follows
