I am trying to restrict access to the "Multiple Set" feature - however cannot find anything in System Center > Users and Groups > Permissions
Nor is there anything in the docs.
How do we restrict access to "Multiple Set" without removing users ability to "write" to individual elements.

we had a user carelessly fire off a multiple set, and whilst it was meant for good intent and not malicious intended it generated an outage for hundreds of our customer's services.
It was the single largest incident I have seen in my career.
operators who manage localized faults should absolutely not have access to multiple set. Should a users account get compromised it is also a very quick way to cause mass disruption.
Having multiple set available to anyone who has an individual element set is an unacceptable risk that we need closed. I will log a feature request for this as i have come to the conclusion it is not possible to restrict access.
We are taking it up with our technical account manager also with the query of anyway to disable it in the interim till it is integrated into dataminer rights and permissions.

Thank you Sam for clarifying. This request makes so much more sense now. The way I understand it now, is that we want to protect the user by limiting his power. Making the multiple set a separate security flag is one way. But maybe alternatives like limiting the number of elements/parameter in the multiple set via a Cube configuration setting will solve this as well?
We'll follow up with the feature request you've created, but please feel free to share your thoughts on the alternative solution as well. Thx & Best regards
We primarily need to completely remove the multiple set ability to the most of our users so it is completely unavailable.
but throttling the rate of set back also would be a welcome feature for those with access. or the ability to add a delay time between each consecutive set and abort part way through.

Thank you Sam for your reply, we'll take everything in consideration and get back to you soon.
I have concluded it is not possible to restrict access to Multiple Set at present.
Per my reply to Pieter above this is a HUGE and unacceptable risk we need tightened.
I have logged a feature suggestion and would appreciate upvotes and given the enormous risk would appreciate it skyline have the ability to prioritize this one.
Hi Sam, interesting question. What would the reason you want to restrict users to do multiple set while still allowing them to set the same parameters element by element?
