Hi All,
Is there a way to migrate / move services from one node to another? We have a heavily loaded DMA that we really need to shuffle services off to help load balance a lot better, is this a possibility yet?
Thanks
Ryan
HI Ryan,
I am new to dataminer system, but i believe that you can do swarming
Please have a look at the following link from docs
https://docs.dataminer.services/dataminer/Administrator_guide/Swarming/Swarming.html
Hope that will help you.
Regards
Good catch Robbe, i believe that swarming is available to some basic elements not the services.
But at least they might be able to move some elements.
Indeed, swarming can already be used to move some regular elements and hopefully get the load a bit lower on that node this way.
To move services, it's recommended to wait until swarming of services becomes available, probably Q2 2026. Manually moving services is not straightforward and requires help from DataMiner Support… If possible, waiting for swarming would be the preferred option.
@Bert want to say you had done great videos in the E-learning courses and i really appreciate it.
Just like this question, which you had covered in your videos.
I started my journey with Dataminer a couple of weeks ago and enrolled on multiple courses, which i go through when i have some free time.
Thanks
Thanks, that's nice! And you're a fast learner, you already answer the tough questions ;-), cool! Keep up the good work!
Swarming services is not yet available.
It's mentioned under the 'Upcoming features' section of that docs link.
