Hello

Is there a list of all information events supported by DataMiner? We are exploring into the auditing capabilities of element and Visio changes and would like to understand the type of information events DataMiner generates.

Thanks.

This is a good one, Srikanth - not aware a full list, subscribing to get more insights from the community, but I believe it's possible to refer to the different "Event ID"s. I seem to recall there would be a specific "pid=" and/or "Eid=" in the queries for the local DB to fetch any given info event.

Based on observations in the past few years, I understand there would be two macro-categories of information events: those from the "system perspective" (e.g. edited the VISIO for a view, added new element, performed a set or execute a script.. and so on) and those that can be raised from the protocols in the specific DMS (essentially, the info event set in the alarm template for specific usage, e.g. when a given event can be used to trigger a script or similar) - the "source" of the info event will tell which DataMiner module has generated it.

Ad interim, I'd suggest to open an info event tab in console to sample the average output in the local DMS: from there, it should be possible to understand what are the pID/Eid that are relevant

HTH

Thanks, Alberto. As a concept, this is the information I am interested in but looking for the comprehensive metadata of information events so that DataMiner’s auditing capabilities are more precise.

Srikanth, see if the list in Ian’s screenshot is of help – perhaps a list can be started from that section

In a DataMiner cube client you can create a new page in the alarm console.

Add a filtered page and add the criteria below:

Parameter desctiption (by Protocol) --> Equal to --> DataMiner element control protocol --> xxx

The list on the right is then exposed which shows the potential 'parameter descriptions' that DataMiner may display. These are used by DataMiner when logging information events.

Not sure this completely covers your question but gives a good insight to what may be available.

Only thing is I have not found a way to export these to CSV/excel.
