Initial Failover configuration sync complete notification?

After configuring Failover on an existing DMA, how can you tell when the database and general folder structure syncing is complete. If you have a single DMA that has been in operation for a while and say has 20K tables and is 50G in size and then create a Failover system from it, how can you tell when the system files and database initial sync is complete and both DMAs are %100 fully in sync. This information is critical so the customer does not attempt to test and sign off Failover feature while the system is still in the process of syncing the PRI to the BU DMA.

Thanks

Hi Jeff,

At this moment there’s still no notification or progress bar regarding sync. The closest thing is that if you try to log into the backup DMA right after configuring failover, it will say that it’s currently synchronizing but won’t show how far it is. As we’ve mentioned in the past, the best places to check are the elements, protocols, protocolscripts, and views folders. Also, make sure that the Views.xml and the DMS.xml files are the same. The size of the SLDMADB folder should be roughly the same as well.

Also, please make sure to wait at least 15 minutes from the creation of the failover configuration before trying a switch. You can also wait for the midnight sync in order to make sure the two agents have synced up completely.

Thanks!
