Include timeout disabled by default for a secondary connection?

Hi all,

I’m trying to add a secondary snmp connection for traps, but would like to have the include timeout option disabled by default:

I know in port settings you have the two options to disable element timeout time/timeout time, but that just disables the ability to edit the times:

I can’t seem to find a way to have “include timeout” be set to disabled by default. Is this possible? I need the snmp connection for traps, but it keeps putting the element in timeout when I add it (because the device doesn’t actually have polling). Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Alex,

If the connection is only used for traps then it’s suprising to me that this would cause your element to go into timeout. If you are never sending a request using this connection, then there can’t be any timeout. Are you sure you don’t have any polling using this connection?

As far as I’m aware, it’s not possible to disable the “Include Timeout” via the PortSettings in the protocol.

You’re right. It ended up actually being the other connection that was putting it into timeout. My mistake!
