After restarting the Dataminer IDP element, it would seem that I'm no longer getting responses for things such as taking backups as shown below:
And also the show backups, doesn't show any previously taken backups. It seems as though the UI is ok for starting actions but is not updating with the messages such as the above.
Is there a way to fix this?
Hi Joao,
Thanks for looking at this. Since 1926GMT yesterday we've been getting this message but the issues started before then but could still be related.
The network shares look ok to me and I can see that backups that were actioned yesterday did go into the archive but they did take a long time to get there.
Which logs could i look at specifically?
I’ve looked in the Datminer IDP log and there’s nothing for today.
In the Datminer IDP configuration log there are these messages from today:

The logs were all set to 0-0-0 for IDP so I’ve increased that to 5-5-5 now. Not seeing much else get logged when I run a backup but I am seeing these messages now:
SLScripting.exe (Administrator @ CRT-HERM-DM1) removed because of error: Idle for too long
Perhaps the backup scripts aren’t’ being run properly?
What should I do next?
It seems that the runtime errors that I reported earlier are a result of running backup scripts that give a Backupfilepath to IDP for it to transfer to the Archive. I can see that it does this (a copy and not move) but after it’s done the copy it doesn’t go any further and the script seems to not be able to complete and exit. I’ve attached the script to this question.
If I run backup scripts to use the send content to IDP, the script completes OK.
Restarting the Dataminer Agent clears the runtime error.
I’m wondering if there’s something not happening from the IDP_ConfigurationMgmt and is preventing the process to complete.
Can i share the scripts with you over email to see if there’s anything that might prevent them from finishing?
Hi Sion,
From the logs, it does not give me any lead on what could be the cause.
But from your description of the steps and behavior, it makes me think the issue you are experiencing is very similar to one another user faced recently and the fix was to upgrade to the latest IDP solution version.
Could you please confirm the version you are running and, if not the latest (at the time of writing 1.1.16), could you please upgrade and see if the issue is no longer present?
Ok thanks. We’re on IDP package version: 1.1.15-2116
I see there’s a 1.1.17-or should we stick with 1.1.16?
The logs you could check are the ones of the IDP Application, you can find it under the element logs section and look for a file with the same name as the Application
Additionally, you could also check the IDP Configuration log file, similar process as described above
